Deir Ezzor
Deir Ezzor is situated on the right bank of the Euphrates river. Deir Ezzor is the main city of the east, and has a museum concentrating on the prehistoric past of this area. Sites in proximity to Deir Ezzor include Mari, Halabia and Zalabia, Al Resafa and Doura Europos, all, remains of ancient kingdoms.
